David begins teaching with MSS in June 2025!

David Brown is a talented guitarist, experienced performer, and passionate music educator based in Dallas, TX. He’s been playing guitar since he was 14 and began teaching at just 20 years old in his mother’s piano studio. With over two decades of experience, David has made music a lifelong pursuit — both on stage and in the classroom.

David studied music at the University of North Texas and earned his degree in Music Performance, graduating cum laude from Wichita State University. Since then, he’s traveled across the country (and even the world!) performing in a wide variety of musical settings — from rock bands and jazz ensembles to classical concerts and worship services. His experience spans nearly every style imaginable: pop, funk, country, reggae, musical theater, Americana, and more.

David’s broad background makes him a great fit for students of all ages and skill levels. Whether your child is a brand-new beginner or a seasoned player looking to take their skills to the next level, David tailors each lesson to meet their goals — in a fun, encouraging, and engaging way. He’s especially passionate about helping students build a solid foundation, avoid bad habits, and develop a love for playing music that lasts a lifetime.
