Mary begins teaching with MSS mid-August 2025!
Mary Loy is excited to return to Dallas after owning a music and theatre school in north Houston where she taught piano, voice, theory, acting, and collaborative music. Her collaboration as an accompanist, performing artist, vocal coach, and music/artistic director spans over 30 years. Following theatre study at The Juilliard School, she earned a Master of Music in Vocal Performance & Pedagogy from LSU, where she was opera accompanist and vocal coach. Her passion is inspiring young students to excellence while developing leadership abilities through the disciplines learned in the arts. Mary has served on the executive boards of TMTA and Conroe MTA and in multiple roles for both organizations. Her students have won prestigious awards in voice and piano and attend top universities. She is an adjudicator and advocate for young musicians and has served as president of The Woodlands Harmony Club, a chapter of National Federation of Music Clubs. Mary was recognized in 2019 as TMTA Teacher of the Year and in 2022 as a MTNA Foundation Fellow. She has 2 children and 5 grandchildren with whom she loves spending time with.
