Logan Herod is a native of the Dallas area who started piano and voice lessons at an early age. Logan joined the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas in the 4th grade, and was a member through her senior year of high school. After being active in the music program in the Highland Park School District, Logan was accepted to attend Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Downtown Dallas, focusing in Vocal Music and Music Theory. While there, she also participated in two different select choral ensembles, Jazz Singers, and Opera Workshop.
She then attended Oklahoma City University, where she graduated in four years with two Bachelor’s degrees: one in Vocal Music Education and the second in Church Music with a concentration in Organ Performance. She then returned to the Dallas area after student teaching Pre-K through 12th grade in the Oklahoma City area to begin her teaching career and pursue graduate school. Recently, she completed a Master’s in Sacred Music and a Master’s in Music Education from SMU. In addition, Logan maintains an active performance schedule, and is often featured as a soloist during various church services throughout the year. She maintains certification in all grade levels and an active school and church classroom teaching career, and she is a registered Music Together® teacher. She loves connecting with each student individually and cultivating a love of music in each child. Logan believes that each child has the ability to be a musical person, and that music permeates all aspects of life, especially in regards to worship and faith.
