With 2017 coming to an end, this time of year is a time of reflection, pride, and setting goals for 2018. In the past 18 months, we've built a stable and amazing studio! I honestly could not be prouder. To continue in the "amazing-ness", Meredith and I also celebrated important birthdays- my 40th and her 30th. We know we are bound for great things in this next year (and decade!!).
This year, we've got 4 solid teachers!! Our teachers are SO committed and perfect for Music SO Simple. I know I've taken a long time (to say the least) to find qualified and dependable teachers who share the same goals are we do- and that time has truly paid off!!
We've got 80 students right now taking private lessons and preschool classes. We can't thank our students enough for their word of mouth in sharing their love for their piano/voice teacher. We have about 15 students at the moment on our waitlist. We are hoping to hire another teacher mid-January to help with the load.
Even though our aim this year was to get a studio space, our priority was getting more students and building up our studio. 2017 has been an amazing stepping stone for for Music SO Simple. We had a couple of leads on spaces last spring, but they just were not quite right. For now, teaching 4 days (!!) a week at St. Joseph Catholic School has been perfect for many families and has aided in spreading the word in the Richardson area.
Lastly, our students have learned to expect nothing but the best from us- especially when it comes to recitals! To date, we have celebrated 3 amazing recitals and our students and their families have had nothing but great things to say! Our students are happy to share their day with their families and friends! We are filling seats at the recital with lots of loved ones!!
As we reflect on 2017 and make our list of goals for 2018, I can't help but think how blessed we are to have such wonderful families who support us and the love of music. Without you, we would not exist. Jeff Bezos says, "If you do build a great experience, customers tell each other about that. Word of mouth is very powerful." Word of mouth is what 2017 is to us. Our goals were achieved and we are welcoming to what 2018 brings!
