Q: Tell us about how you first became involved in music
A: It all started when I was seven years old. I had a good voice so my parents decided to introduce me into the musical world. My first performance as a singer took place on a stage during a local event.

Q: Is anyone else in your family a musician?
A: Both my parents are musicians. My mom is a singer and my father is guitarist. My brother also plays the flugelhorn.

Q: Tell us more about your music education
A: I started studying piano when I was a child. I was in private lessons for about three years and at the age of ten, I began my musical studies in the conservatory V. Bellini in Catania, Sicily. I graduated a few years ago and I participated as a pianist in masterclasses, recitals, competitions and international events. I also was a piano accompanist for singers and I took a music therapy course there.

Q: Growing up, did you have any influential teachers/professors who guided you towards becoming a professional musician?
A: Of course, yes. I had three teachers who supported me during my career and still today. I’m grateful for the teachings I received, not only in music but also in life!

Q: What is your personal teaching philosophy?
A: My philosophy is to try to understand the needs of the students, how they learn, their difficulties and abilities, without being too strict. First of all, music is a richness for the soul and must be lived with joy and pleasure.

Q: What is your favorite music genre?
A: I really love classical music but I am also open to the most modern musical genres.

Q: What is your favorite part about being a piano teacher?
A: Making music is a privilege that I love sharing with my students. Watching them improve and seeing them smile while playing a tune is my greatest pride.

Q: When you are not teaching, what do you like to do in your spare time?
A: I love to sing pop songs, listen to music, read books of cultural depth, watch movies and to travel all over the world.

Q: We are so excited you are in Dallas now! Tell us what you loved about Italy!
A: I keep wonderful memories about my native country. I love the history and culture of Italy.
I admire architecture, sculpture, music, food, good wine, coffee, the countryside and of course my island, Sicily, with its majestic volcano.
